The Sundai Club

America has a food insecurity issue, not a food scarcity issue.

Food Insecurity = Lack of funds, or resources on a household level

Food Scarcity = Lack of food for a community as a whole/lack of resources

The Sundai Club is a food security initiative created by me- Semaj. A single mom who runs a cottage bakery in Baton Rouge. I have faced food insecurity in my own household. There has been plenty of nights where I have gone hungry in order to feed my daughter. Along with facing homelessness more than once before I gave birth to my daughter. Since becoming a mom I’ve been blessed to have a bit for stability in my life, I want to use this time to give back as much as I can.

Through the Sundai Club I plan to feed as many households as possible on a weekly basis. This will be funded through donations and all the profits made from the Lona Rai Giftshop.
